I am selling my 74 model Volkswagen Dormobile Kombi camper. I bought it last year as a project, but it's going to take a while before I get around to it so I've decided just to sell it as is. It has an 1800 that runs and drives. It was registered up until about August last year (2010). I purchased it in December and actually drove it home from the Northern beaches on my trade plate.
The only noteable mechanically issues that I can tell are:

1. Needs a new brake pedal return spring.
2. Has an electric fuel pump which is noisy.
3. Starter motor is not completely reliable. Other than that it seems to drive alright.
4. Flat battery - Can be charged

The body has had a fair bit of welding done in the following areas:

1. Plated under the windscreen
2. Floors - Drivers, passengers and rear cabin
3. Passenger side sill under the sliding door

Areas that still need attention:

1. Outer steps
2. Drivers side sill
3. Window sills

The body overall is reasonably straight and the hard rust areas have been done. The cost to weld up the remaining areas would be somewhere around $1,500 - $2,000 including the cost of the new repair sections.

I am happy to arrange rust repairs and anything else for a blue slip at your cost. Happy to do for the cheapest possible just to get it through a blue slip, or happy to do a high quality job. You tell me what you want and I'll get it done.

The best part about this Kombi is the Dormobile camper roof. These are rare and sought after.
