1975 Volkswagen Kombi Campmobile
We have always called him “Kombi”; used infrequently as a daily drive, mostly for bush camping adventures. You can't help but smile when driving Kombi, who is now looking for more adventures. Please see all photos as they form part of the description.
Runs smoothly, 1800 motor, 4 speed manual gearbox, new battery, 80% tread on the tyres, motor was rebuilt in 2005, since travelled about 20,000 km, regularly serviced and maintained with history (receipts) from 2002. All mechanics and electrics working very well. Registered until 30/11/2016, cruises nicely at 90 kph.
Original: owner’s manual and repair manuals x 2, jack, VW hub caps including for spare tyre, sink with pump tap and table, metal step, bench seat with seatbelts, lots of storage under bench seat and small seat at table. Rear seat converts to a double bed and there is a “bed in the roof” with original fabric covered mattresses. Fabric seats and mattresses have been professionally cleaned and sanitised, all in good condition. There is no stove or fridge these can be added by new owner if required.
New water proof canvas in pop-top, when top up there is 7 ft of headspace, fibreglass in good condition, 240 V and 12 V lights, 240 V double power point for appliances plus extension cords, total block out curtains for privacy, as new slide on awning with poles, pegs and ropes, only takes minutes to set up, new Pioneer radio, CD, USB and auxiliary player with two speakers and remote, towbar and bull bar.
Straight body, some surface rust in places, the paint job in some places is ordinary, couple of minimal scrapes, window rubbers need replacement, window tinting installed 2001 now has some blemishes, Kombi is the sort of car that you love to use without being afraid of every scratch. Mechanically sound and well cared for, get in and go anytime, very good for 40 years young (built 07/1976), kept undercover.
