Have a look at Pearl. She is the latest Kombi we have just finished restoring. She is a 1977 with a 2 litre engine and gearbox and she runs beautifully. Just picture yourself cruising around in her. We went for a cruise last weekend to Long Jetty and we were getting stares the whole time and people were asking to take photos. She really does stand out.
So what work have we done? Well, Pearl has been lovingly looked after by her previous owner who purchased her from us back in 2012. She did have some minor body damage and a few little rust spots so we decided to repair it all and give her another new lease on life rather than trying to fix just bits and pieces. So the paint is all nice and new and the body is very straight. The seats were reupholstered back in 2012 so we didn't need to redo these again, but we have done all new door trims, new front and rear carpet and a nice new floating timber floor in the middle.
As for the mechanicals, she drives really well and is very tight. The previous owner spent close to $10,000 on her in the past 5 years and we have all the receipts to go with it. The engine was reconditioned in 2013 so she is a great runner, starts first time and cruises comfortably on the freeway.
She is currently registered in Victoria, but we will be handing the plates in and selling with a NSW roadworthy and can also add registration at cost for NSW buyers.
Pearl really is a great looker and a solid bus. We hope she finds a new home soon. As we always say: The Kombi finds the buyer! Will Pearl choose you?
